There are a number of factors you should consider when choosing a same day courier company.  The first factor businesses always consider is the cost.  But it isn't just the cheapest service you should consider, you should evaluate which company offers the best value for the money it is charging.  The cheapest same day courier service does not always mean it is the best.  Companies who offer very cheap rates may be cutting down so much on costs that's why they can extend the cheaper rate to you.  But you must consider if these companies offer satisfactory customer service.

Ask for a comprehensive pricelist of their services.  This is so you can compute for the courier costs depending on the destination of packages.  If you deliver more packages to a particular town and the company has a more expensive rate for that town than the other couriers then you might want to consider the other companies.  If you really want to work with a particular company that has more expensive rates, negotiate for better rates.
